This team brings a breadth of skills and experience, both clinical and non-clinical together with strong leadership and change management/transformation knowledge. Kate Plunkett-Reed
Network Director
About
Kate has been with the Network since 2019, Kate brings over 8 years’ experience as a senior operational and strategic manager in the NHS, together with over 10 years in the private sector, including working for Kraft Foods in Switzerland as part of their change management team. Her NHS experience includes previous experience in paediatrics with operational, surgical and theatres management experience in an acute hospital setting. She has previously managed operational delivery networks in paediatric burns and paediatric major trauma.

Lauren Martin
Deputy Network Director
About
Lauren Martin is the Deputy Network Director for the North Thames Paediatric Network, joining the team in April 2023. Prior to this, she worked at UCLH for five years, most recently setting up and leading a new homeless healthcare pilot providing nursing outreach to hostels in Camden. Lauren has previously worked as an operational manager in Cancer and Neurology services, and has worked in strategic roles at Deloitte, NHS England and the Shelford Group. She has a postgraduate certificate in Healthcare Leadership from University of Birmingham and a masters in Health Policy from Imperial College.

Tanya O’Driscoll
Interim NTPN Nurse Manager, Network Lead Nurse Surgery in Children ODN
About
Tanya joined the network in March 2023. She is a paediatric nurse with over 25 years’ experience across both secondary and tertiary centres in London. She is leading the Surgery in Children workstream having worked in areas providing both general and specialist surgery. Tanya is passionate about supporting the provision of quality care for children and young people and their families, through recruitment, retention, training, and support for staff.

Amy Hunter
Lead Nurse Educator, Lead for Risk & Governance and Interim Lead Nurse PiC
About
With 10 years of paediatric nursing experience, Amy has a particular interest in emergency, high dependency, and intensive care nursing. She has worked in Accident and Emergency, Paediatric Intensive Care (PICU) and for the Children’s Acute Transport service (CATS). Amy has delivered education on a day-to-day basis, as part of her senior nursing role. Amy is a visiting lecturer at London South Bank University (LSBU). She is very passionate about education and enthusiastic to make it equal and accessible to all within the NTPN.

Shah Hussain
Networks Senior Business Intelligence and Data Manager
About
Shah is the Networks Senior Business Intelligence and Data Manager working with both the Network and our partnering transport service CATS. He specialises in data analysis and data presentation for both organisations. Shah has been working in the healthcare industry for 8 years starting his career in secondary care as a business support officer and as a data manager, later moving onto the primary care sector and assisting with logistics of acute departments. His fondness of data stems from his passion to justify answers and solutions, optimise strategies and love of technology.

Patrick Duff
Nurse Educator
About
Patrick joins the team with over 10 years’ experience in Paediatric nursing. Patrick has worked as part of the Paediatric senior nurse team in a major NW London Hospital (Chelwest) gaining experience in High Dependency care, Gastroenterology and General surgery to name but a few, during his time there he also completed a clinical teaching secondment with Kings College London. Patrick has also worked in CAMHS, Orthopaedics and more recently was the Clinical nurse educator for Children and young people’s services at one of the networks specialist surgical trusts (RNOH) where his hard work and dedication to education lead him to winning the trusts coveted “Achieving Excellence” staff award for his medicines management training which dramatically improved medicines safety and decrease medicines issues in the paediatric settings. Patrick has always had a keen interest in education particularly in the use of simulation to teach both the technical and equally important non-technical skills required to provide holistic care to children and young people.

Kimberley Harvey
Network Educator
About
Kimberley has recently joined the network, with over 15 years of experience in the NHS. Coming from a background as an ODP, she brings a passion for paediatric care and education, particularly within theatres. Prior to joining the network, Kimberley led the implementation and delivery of education targeted at Nurses and Allied Health Professionals across various specialties within theatres. She also expanded her teaching by providing external education on post-operative wards, engaging in simulation activities, delivering university lectures, and assisting with courses at external hospitals focused on paediatric care. Kimberley’s commitment to contributing to additional training opportunities and driving innovative change led her to win the 2022 Student Nursing Times Award for student facilitation.
Kimberley has earned a Chartered Management Qualification in Coaching and Mentoring and a Fellowship in Higher Education. She also holds a postgraduate certificate in Clinical Leadership and is currently completing her Masters in Educational Leadership.
