Network Data & Systems

Here at the Network we utilise an array of data collection, analysis and visual resources. The data is used to equip ourselves with an up to date understanding of the regions complex workings. This page serves as a signpost to some of the essential systems that power our understanding of the network.

Below, you will find an interactive tool for complex pathways, NTPN software resources and links to other NHSE resources we commonly utilise.

Useful tools for clinicians

Useful tools for clinicians

After reviewing pathway feedback from our stakeholders, it became apparent how often in times of increased clinical pressure on the wards, it is difficult to locate the latest referral pathway guidance’s for further specialist care and then a challenge to ascertain the most suitable contact information to make a referral. Especially for new staff, out of hours and complex pathways.

Guided by our clinical leads, at the North Thames Paediatric Network, we have developed an easy to navigate, interactive tool to help clinicians quickly identify the established pathway. Utilising filters to specify the clinical needs, the tool will readjust the map and provide a visual of the pathway.

The tool includes a Map of NTPN units with a selection of filters to show which unit provides which paediatric specialist care, Pathway finder tool  and a useful referral contact page.

MediTrack

MediTrack has been designed to provide our NHS stakeholders with a tool to record and review capacity and demand on paediatric wards including critical care. MediTrack allows stakeholders to input, compare, and download capacity data creating the opportunity to fostering astute decision-making and strategic foresight. The data inputted aids conversations and planning of optimising resource allocations, risk assessing, pathway improvement planning and much more. All, while adhering to the data protection standards of the NHS. For access, you will need to have your units Matron/ Senior sister request email the NTPN Data Manager with the details.

NetTrack

NetTrack – NTPN has developed NetTrack, an online form for health professionals across our Network membership to submit pathway issues. We want to use NetTrack as a mechanism to develop a culture of shared learning. More details on access and process can be found on the link below.

Dashboard

Access to the NTPN Dashboard is limited exclusively to NTPN employees. This tool aligns multiple NHS data streams (SUS, HES, NDRS etc.) to focus on the networks key priorities in each speciality. No Patient Identifiable data is used, however some data streams do restrict sharing of the data.
