Surgery in Children

The Surgery in Children Operational Delivery Network (ODN) aims to support the provision of high quality, equitable care across North Thames with surgery being provided as close to the child’s home as safely as possible. 

The surgery in children ODN works with the trusts to improve the pathways for babies, children and young people requiring both elective and emergency surgery. The focus of this work is the GIRFT report which outlines recommendations and objectives for paediatric surgical care.

Meet the Team

Tanya O’Driscoll

Interim NTPN Nurse Manager, Network Lead Nurse Surgery in Children ODN

Tanya joined the network in March 2023. She is a paediatric nurse with over 25 years’ experience across both secondary and tertiary centres in London. She is leading the Surgery in Children workstream having worked in areas providing both general and specialist surgery. Tanya is passionate about supporting the provision of quality care for children and young people and their families, through recruitment, retention, training, and support for staff.
