NTPN Forums

NTPN Matron Forum

The Matron’s forum was formed in 2023 to support the paediatric matrons across the North Thames Network. Matrons from all paediatric areas are welcome (Matrons from PCC settings also have a forum so you may prefer to join this).

The group meet virtually via teams every 4 to 6 weeks for approximately an hour to discuss current issues, ask questions and get peer support. All trusts across NTPN are represented including DGH hospitals and the tertiary centres and so it is a great opportunity to talk to colleagues in a relaxed and informal setting.

NTPN Play Forum

The Play forum is a new group open to all play staff that work in health play settings across the network. We currently have staff from DGH, tertiary and hospice settings.

The group meet virtually via teams once a month for up to an hour for peer support, to ask questions and to share ideas and information.

There will be a face-to-face meeting in central London in September.

To request to join a forum please complete the enquiry form.

NTPN Nurse Educators Forum

The NTPN Educators Forum is where we share the latest education updates from the North Thames Paediatric Network (NTPN), explore emerging educational needs from our stakeholders, and connect as a community of educators. This session also includes a dedicated wellbeing check-in, offering space to reflect, support one another, and strengthen our collective resilience. Let’s collaborate, learn, and grow together as we continue to shape the future of nursing education across the region.

Surgery Educators Forum

he Surgery Educators Forum is a new initiative designed to support staff specifically involved in paediatric education within surgical settings across the North Thames Network. This includes teams working in surgical wards, recovery, scrub and anaesthetics.

Whether you’re a senior recovery nurse, anaesthetic practitioner, or ward-based mentor, this group is open to individuals involved in teaching and mentoring, regardless of whether they hold a formal educator title.

The forum will meet virtually via Teams 3–4 times a year to share ideas, raise questions, and offer peer support. It’s a space to connect with colleagues across the network, discuss challenges, and develop practical, targeted education within surgical care.

First date: Wednesday 21st January 26
